Consecration to Jesus Through Mary

Mary is the easiest, shortest and most perfect path to Jesus Christ. She is the path opened by Jesus Christ when he came to us and in which there are no obstacles to reach Him. By opening her life to us, Mary shows that we need not be afraid to give ourselves wholly to Christ. She helps us understand the work of the Spirit and to joyfully cooperate with it. Mary is there with us when we are asked to stand with Christ at Calvary, and she helps us to persevere with faith until the Resurrection comes.

Let us consecrate ourselves to Jesus through Mary by the way St. Louis de Montfort prepared for all Catholics.

Adoration

Besides participation in the Holy Mass, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is the highest worship that we ca give God. It should be commonplace in the life of every baptized Catholic.

Visit the St. Michael the Archangel Perpetual Adoration to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, located in the back of our building, to spend time with our Lord, fully present, Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity, in the Eucharist.

Let us devote one hour per week to Adoration, praying for the intentions of our parish, of our Holy Father, and for vocations to the priesthood and religious life.

Ministry

St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church is a vibrant community with a great number of ministries and groups n the service of Our Lord and His People. Animated by the Spirit and sustained by the Eucharist, the source and summit of our lives as Catholics, our participation in ministry and the community life of the parish makes our faith come alive in concrete and fruitful ways.

Carefully consider how you might grow in your spiritual life, and how our parish might grow as a community of faith, through your active participation in one of our ministries or groups.

Let us commit to actively participating in at least one ministry of the parish in order to strengthen up our sense of belonging and community.

Stewardship

Amen, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who have been putting money into the treasury. For they all have put in out of their abundance; but she out of her poverty has put in all that she had.” — Mk 12:44

Stewardship, in its simplest terms, is the act of putting God’s priorities before our own. Good stewards give the first portion of their gifts of time, talent and treasure to the Lord’s work, in gratitude for his many blessings. This practice of giving our first fruits incorporates the aspect of sacrificial giving.

Let us make a regular and consistent sacrificial offering for the work of the parish through the weekly offering and for the work of the Archdiocese through the annual ABCD.
